The purpose of Treaties Recognition Week is to recognize the importance of treaties and expand awareness of the existence of treaties and the significance of the relationships between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous communities within Ontario.

Engage with and learn about foundational and collaborative strategies that foster reciprocal and meaningful relationships with Indigenous peoples’.

Honour the experiences of residential school survivors at a University-wide event to commemorate Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation.

Together we gather as a community, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, to share space, listen, and learn about Orange Shirt Day.

Join the campus community on this walk to reflect on how we each plan to take action and meaningful steps toward reconciliation in both our lives and in our work.

The University of Toronto Scarborough will raise the Survivors Flag with an opening from Jake Charles, a traditional Anishinaabe knowledge sharer in his community, the Chippewas of Georgina Island .

Indigenous Students, Staff, Faculty and Librarians, we are happy to welcome you back to campus. Please join us for a day of reconnection and making new connections. We will start our day with a campus tour followed by lunch and activities.

June is National Indigenous History Month and June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day — a time to learn, reflect, and honour the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and vital contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

This week is organized to by the Office of Indigenous Initiatives and the Athletics and Recreation to align with Women’s Memorial March’s that occurs annually in various communities and cities across the country, including Toronto on February 14.
