The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Office provides educational workshops that seek to strengthen understanding and advance equity, diversity and inclusion practices across the UTSC campus. Workshops are open to students, staff, faculty, and librarians.

As part of UTSC’s commitment to Inclusive Excellence, all staff, faculty & librarians have an essential role to play in creating and promoting an inclusive, respectful and equitable campus community. This foundational course will explore key concepts in gender and sexual diversity that will deepen your understanding of practices to help advance equity and inclusion at the University of Toronto.
In this 2-hour session, participants will be introduced to:
some impacts of heteronormativity and ciscentrism in workplace settings
the difference between biological sex, gender identity and expression, and sexual orientation
resources that outline best practices in 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion in the workplace
U of T policies and human rights legislation
the importance of using correct pronouns
