Where: HW 305 (Humanities Wing, third floor, UofT Scarborough)
Who: Everyone who is respectful of the intent of this inclusive and welcoming space is invited to attend.
What: Community-building, connection, reflection, and crafting in an inclusive space. Food and refreshments will be served.

Transgender Awareness Week is observed annually and aims to increase awareness, visibility and knowledge of trans people and the issues faced by members of trans communities. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the lives of trans and nonbinary people and the contributions they have made and continue to make.

On November 14, we invite you to join the UTSC community in reflective dialogue and to craft messages of support for Trans Awareness Week. While 2-Spirit, Trans, and Nonbinary (2STNB+) people face marginalization and discrimination due to harmful gendered and sexual norms, 2STNB+ people also demonstrate resilience, strength, and creativity. From hardship to empowerment, from trauma to healing, from dysphoria to euphoria - we will explore these themes together and craft messages of solidarity, celebration, and reflection to be used in the Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil, held Nov. 18 at UTSC.

This event is hostedby the following groups at UTSC: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Office, Women & Trans Centre, SC:OUT, the Library, Positive Space Committee, and more.
