Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation On the Lands Visit

Join the staff from the Office of Indigenous Initiatives UTSC, and Student Life in this partnership to bring this amazing opportunity to visit the thriving and resilient Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation Community, which is part of the Ojibwe (Anishinaabe) Nation, one of the largest Aboriginal Nations in North America. We will participate in  the Annual Fall Harvest hosted by community members. The Festival will have various outdoor stations filled with all sorts of learning opportunities to grow knowledge about traditional foods, harvesting, and fall preparation and preservation activities.

We will then tour the Lloyd S. King Elementary School and visit the incredible school mural “kiinwi Dabaadjmowin” meaning “our Story”. The mural depicts a visual history of the people of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. All students are welcome but please note spots are limited. Transportation, meals, and accommodation are provided.
