Community Invitation!

We are looking for members of the U of T community (students, staff, faculty, and librarians) who are interested in presenting about an observance or holiday as part of our "A Conversation About" series.

The purpose of this series is to help the community familiarize themselves with the meaning and significance of traditions that are celebrated by many in our community, and discuss and share ways to create inclusion and belonging. Previous events as part of this series have included conversations on Ramadan, Easter & Passover.

- The series will take place in the Fall/Winter 2023-2024 Academic year.

- The presenter will be requested to come up with a presentation on the observance, how it is observed or celebrated, and how can community members create inclusion and belonging for members who participate in the observance.

- The presentation can be curated for a maximum 2 hour duration, with a preference for 1 hour to 1.5 hour presentation.

- In person and virtual presentations are welcomed!

- The UTSC EDI office will provide logistical support for the event.

Please note: We try to align our "A Conversation About" series with the U of T Inclusive Employer Guides as a point of entry. We recognize that the Inclusive Employer Guides are not an exhaustive list of all observances and holidays our community may participate in. We encourage folks who may be interested, but do not see the observance on the Inclusive Employer Guide to still connect with us!

Interested community members can contact us for more information by email: edio.utsc@utoronto.ca
