Join us for the annual Pride Flag Raising to commemorate Pride Month
UTSC is proud to raise the Progress Pride Flag for the month of June. This gesture honours the diversity, resilience, and importance of 2SLGBTQ+ communities on our campus and beyond.
Date: Monday, June 1, 2026
Time: 12 - 1 p.m.
Location: UTSC Flag Pole (in front of the Arts & Administration Building). In the event of inclement weather, the Pride Flag Raising will be held in the Arts & Administration building atrium (AA112 foyer).
The Progress Pride flag serves as a symbol of diverse 2SLGBTQ+ communities. It is a visual reminder of the intersecting struggles and oppression that people in the community have faced and continue to face, but it is also a sign of resilience and joy. The widespread use of the Progress Pride flag signals an institutional commitment to creating a safer and welcoming campus for 2SLGBTQ+ UTSC community members.
Opening remarks will be shared by Soph Dhrolia, Assistant Director, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, EDIO, followed by a special poetry reading from UTSC's very own Ravisha Mall, Senior Communications Officer, Development and Alumni Relations Office. Afterwards, the Progress Pride Flag will be raised by Campus Safety.
Giveaways and treats will be available to attendees while quantities last!
Registration is not required; all are welcome to attend this event.
