There has been a troubling rise in racism and hate directed toward South Asian communities across Canada online, in public spaces, and in everyday interactions. These experiences can leave deep emotional impacts and a sense of isolation.
This healing circle offers a communal space for gentle healing for students, staff, faculty, and librarians who have been affected by racial harm. While the gathering is open to everyone, it will center South Asian experiences, voices, and needs. Together, we will create space for connection and reflection while grounding ourselves in resilience, hope, and collective care where we can remind one another that we do not carry these experiences alone.
Facilitator: Dr. Jasjit Sangha, Anti-Racist Pedagogy Educational Developer, CTL. Jasjit is a certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher and brings extensive experience and knowledge on the intersections of race, wellbeing, and healing practices.
This program is a collaboration between Student Life, Center for Teaching and Learning, and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Office.
